On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Mayfield Schools Foundation, I’m happy to introduce you to the Foundation’s new website! Since 2010 the Foundation has been raising funds to support the educational initiatives of the Mayfield City School District. We hope the website not only keeps you updated on the Foundation’s efforts but also provides opportunities for your engagement and your support.
During this most difficult time, we have come to more fully appreciate the importance of innovation. We have seen our schools, students, and communities having to adapt to circumstances that have highlighted the need for technology, creativity and alternatives to the traditional ways of learning and communicating. The District has embraced these as it prepares its students for the future. The Foundation enthusiastically supports the District’s efforts to serve “Every Student. Every Day.”
Since raising funds in 2010 for the turf field in Wildcat Stadium, the Foundation has focused on providing support for broader District initiatives that offer all students the opportunity to learn and to develop skills in preparation for the world after high school. Over the past five years, the Foundation has raised over $270,000 for such District initiatives as:
Chromebooks for students in grades 5-12
The Mobile Innovation Lab
The Mayfield Innovation Center
Makerspaces in the elementary buildings
The Middle School Innovation Learning Center
The High School Entrepreneurial Space
Funds in the past have come entirely from two annual events, the Green Tie Gala and the Golf Outing (which the Mayfield Business Alliance successfully hosted until it merged with the Foundation in 2017). We now look to the community-at-large to join the Foundation’s efforts to expand the learning opportunities for Mayfield’s students.
Through our website and communication channels, we have created an opportunity for personal and corporate donations. We hope that the Foundation’s purpose will lead you to make a donation that will enhance the education of the students of Mayfield. In addition, we ask that you follow us on Facebook and use the hashtag #innovatenow as a way of spreading the word about the Foundation.
In advance, thank you for your support of the Mayfield Schools Foundation!
