CHROMEBOOKS SUPPORT ALL-ACCESS LEARNING

All-Access Learning provides Mayfield students with a wide variety of learning opportunities that allow them to use both content and foundational knowledge to solve problems, be creative, collaborate, think critically and communicate.

As part of All-Access Learning, Mayfield provides Chromebooks for students in Grades 5-12. This 1:1 devise plan has made a huge impact on instruction. The Foundation is pleased to continue to support this initiative.

MAKERSPACES

Traditional classrooms are a model of the past. Gone are students learning for hours in lines of desks staring at a teacher writing on a blackboard. Mayfield teachers and students instead enjoy the benefits of flexible seating and learning spaces in areas called Makerspaces.

The Makerspaces in the elementary school buildings:

  • Center Cyclone Creation Station

  • Gates Mills Idea Lab

  • Lander Makerspace

  • Millridge Media/STEAM2M Collaboration Space

enhance the students’ abilities to create, tinker and innovate while learning and gaining a better understanding of various technologies.

HIGH SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURIAL SPACE

Mayfield High School students enjoy a 6,500 square foot entrepreneurial space thanks to the conversion of the former Construction Trades workshop. The space provides students with opportunities to learn in an environment rich in technology.
